SPR Principal Michael Bogin to Moderate “Developing Waterfront Brownfields” at NYCBP’s Innovative Development Summit
On September 8, from 2:40-3:55pm EST, SPR Principal Michael Bogin will moderate a panel titled “Developing Waterfront Brownfields” at the New York City Brownfield Partnership’s Second Annual Innovative Development Summit.
The NYC Brownfield Partnership’s Innovative Development Summit is a day-long event that brings together leaders in sustainable redevelopment, environmental justice, and brownfield innovation. The Summit offers a unique platform for professionals across public, private, and nonprofit sectors to share pioneering strategies and successful case studies that have transformed contaminated and underutilized land into thriving, resilient communities.
Session 5, “Developing Waterfront Brownfields,” will explore key considerations and recommend strategies for developing waterfront brownfield sites. Michael will give an overview of the pertinent regulatory framework at the state, federal, and local level, while other panelists will discuss bulkhead, wharf and pier construction, waterfront building design, and case studies of waterfront brownfields developments.
