SPR recognized as a top-ranked New York environmental law firm by Chambers & Partners

SPR has again been awarded the top ranking for New York environmental law firms in the 2021 Chambers USA rankings of top lawyers and law firms across the United States. The 2021 Chambers USA guide states that SPR is known for its “deep bench of environmental experts” and offers “high-quality environmental regulatory advice as well as expertise in a range of litigious matters, particularly in Superfund cases.” Chambers also acknowledged eight SPR attorneys as noted environmental practitioners -- the largest number of attorneys listed in the “Environment” field from any single firm in New York. David Paget was described as “diligent, knowledgeable and thorough; a tremendous attorney.” Daniel Riesel was recognized as having “a marvelous courtroom presence” and a “crisp and concise writing style.” Mark Chertok was celebrated as “very smart, practical and creative.” Jeffrey Gracer, who was ranked in both the “Environment” and “Environment: Mainly Transactional” categories, was commended for his ability to “identify the main issues and come up with innovative solutions” and to “communicate without using legalese.” Elizabeth Knauer was described as “very smart and effective,” and “impressive in litigation.” Dan Chorost was praised as “exemplary” and for his “excellent communications skills.” Michael Bogin was described as having an “incredible reputation with agencies” and as “smart, reasonable and easy to work with.” Maggie Macdonald was recognized as “a notable associate in the environmental litigation space.” Read the full Chambers report here.
