Michael Bogin to Present CLE on Waterfront Development and Lands Under Water Issues

On April 6, 2021, SPR Principal Michael Bogin will speak on a continuing legal education (CLE) panel entitled Land Under Water: Navigating Legal Nuances of Waterfront Development in New York State, hosted by the New York State Bar Association. Waterfront property acquisition and development in New York State involves numerous legal nuances that affect basic property boundaries and rights. The CLE will cover ownership of and rights to land currently and formerly under water, riparian and littoral rights, and natural boundary changes.  Michael and the other panelists will discuss how these issues arise in a practical sense, why they matter, how to address them, and how climate change may affect the analysis. Michael will be joined by Frank Pallante, legal counsel at the NYS Office of General Services; Scott Shostak, legal counsel at the NYC Economic Development Corporation; Marlon Smith of Royal Abstract; and Nicholas Ward-Willis, Principal Member of Keane & Beane P.C.
