SPR Announces the Promotion of Meg Holden to Principal

Sive, Paget & Riesel is pleased to announce the promotion of Meg Holden to principal.

“Meg is an excellent advocate who effectively and efficiently distills complex issues to their base components and then builds solutions that are practical and consistent with the clients’ objectives,” said SPR Principal Scott Furman.

SPR Principal Elizabeth Knauer added, “I’m always glad to have the opportunity to work with Meg. She has a wide range of knowledge in our field, sharp instincts in litigation, and a really practical outlook. Above all, she shows great care for her colleagues and clients.”

Meg focuses her practice on environmental litigation, due diligence for real estate acquisitions, environmental permitting, and renewable energy development. She works closely with clients to navigate complex regulatory frameworks, evaluate environmental risks associated with development projects, and address challenges arising under federal and state environmental laws.

Meg has broad litigation experience under a variety of environmental laws. Recently, her work has included litigation concerning groundwater contamination caused by emerging contaminants, including PFAS. In addition, she frequently advises clients on the acquisition and remediation of contaminated properties, often through participation in the New York State Brownfield Cleanup Program. Her guidance helps clients successfully remediate properties within regulatory frameworks and secure critical liability protections.

Meg also advises renewable energy and climate technology companies on federal, state, and local permitting and environmental review requirements, including those applicable to offshore wind projects.

Outside of her work at SPR, Meg has volunteered with several educational nonprofits and serves on the board of an educational nonprofit in her hometown in Connecticut.

Please join us in congratulating Meg on her promotion to principal. SPR is extremely proud of her accomplishments and looks forward to supporting this next chapter of her career.
